Dr. Elisa von Joeden-Forgey is an Endowed Chair in Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Keene State College in New Hampshire. Before this, she was the Dr. Marsha Raticoff Grossman Professor of Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Stockton University and founder of the Genocide Prevention Certificate program there. She earned an MA and a PhD in History of University of Pennsylvania and a BA in African Studies and History from Columbia University. Her current work is on gender, genocide, and long-term prevention through intensive public training and social justice initiatives. She strongly believes that genocide can be prevented but that we must work at the grassroots as well as at official policy levels to do so.
